Vitamins and Pregnancy

This is one time it is better to ditch the vitamins and increase good food. Developing fetuses start out very small and as a result are probably more susceptible to DNA breaks as they rapidly grow to delivery weight. article article Since vitamins are quite concentrated, this presents a challenge for the body to control while it is preparing for a new life. If you are inclined to include a pregnancy multi-vitamin, or unwilling to eat a good diet, pick a prenatal multi-vitamin with very low dosages. It may be wise to even reduce the number of pills per day. Best ones usually list taking 3-4 a day, so 2-3 might be a wise choice. A one a day is pretty much worthless since very anemic in minerals, but may go overboard on small molecular size vitamins. Consult a Nutritionist.
